Coordinator School: SPAIN CEIP BILINGÜE ALMERIMAR
CEIP Bilingüe Almerimar is a public school located in Almerimar (Almeria). The school has 8 classes for early childhood education (3-6 years old), 19 classes for primary education (6-12 years old). The school has a total of 695 students and each class has around 25 students. There are two classes with students on the autism spectrum (10 students). It is a bilingual school. The curriculum is taught in an interdisciplinary way, and great importance is given to sports and digital competence. The school has 44 teachers and about 25 non-teaching staff: administrative staff, cooks, monitors, etc.Furthermore, the school has demonstrated its commitment to innovative teaching methodologies and leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience. With an emphasis on bilingual education, the school has already incorporated digital tools and interactive learning platforms into its curriculum. This existing expertise lays a solid foundation for the integration of AI and interactive tools into the proposed project, enabling the school to leverage these technologies effectively. The school supports traditions and important days with ceremonies for example Christmas, Easter, The International for the Elimination of Violence, The Peace Day, International Children’s Day, European Languages Day… Students have the following subjects: Language and Literature, Math, Natural Science, Social Science, English, French, PE, Music, Art, STEAM. The school prioritises the education of values and new technologies. The school intends to carry out a new program called “Retotech” from “Fundacion Endesa” with students in the fifth and sixth grade. In this way our school has digital resources such as digital whiteboards, 3D printer, tablets, computers, robotics kits, which we use for the Retotech program. Classes are developed using these resources to bring students closer to the world of technology. Our students learn to program and design a robot to solve a problem related to the environment. One of the main objectives in our school is to make students aware of the importance of conserving the environment, climate change, recycling, pollution… CEIP BILINGÜE ALMERIMAR is a bilingual located in Almerimar, Spain.
The school works on the main environmental problems in Science. This project is a good opportunity for students and teachers to learn about the topic, to be aware of these problems, and to be able to act to achieve a healthier planet. The school has no previous experience with the Erasmus projects, but the principal, Carmen Ma Jiménez, was the coordinator for two projects in a former school. Also the coordinator teaches a new subject called “Skills STEAM”. CEIP BILINGÜE ALMERIMAR school has the equipment and IT personnel to successfully implement the AI-Green project. It cooperates and communicates with Universidad de Almería, and ELFO tech company. Necessary software and technical personnel support will be received. The school also received letters of support from these institutions.The institution will establish an associated partnership between the university and the ELFO company and will receive the following support throughout the project.

Internationella Engelska Skolan Helsingborg
Internationella Engelska Skolan Helsingborg is located in southern Sweden. It is a truly international school with staff and students from all over the world. The school is bilingual with up to 50% of the education in English, and it follows the Swedish national curriculum. The school regularly wins awards and is at the top of the academic results tables nationwide, which has contributed to a long student queue. The school is free of charge for all students and entirely funded via the municipalities. The school’s mission is to provide a safe, disciplined learning environment that empowers all students to develop to their full potential. The school is well-resourced with computing equipment, a range of practical equipment for science, mathematics, music, PE activities and resources to support language, mathematics, history and geography work. There is a wide range of reading material to support the teaching of reading. There are 500 students from grade 4 to grade 9 and 60 teachers. Students can choose between three modern foreign languages: Spanish, German, or French. The Arabic language is provided as a mother tongue language to a minority of the student population. In addition to regular classes, there are subject support and school clubs for example sports club, art club, and role play. The school supports traditions classes and important days for example Christmas play, St. Lucia, End of the Year Ceremonies… The aim is to develop a positive attitude towards school work in a multicultural environment.The school focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) engage in a range of activities to advance AI education, research, and application.Curriculum Development:Designing comprehensive AI courses covering foundational concepts, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and AI ethics. The project “Eco-Sustainable Strategies For A Clean planet, Healthy Life” will be the second Erasmus project at IES Helsingborg. The school has chosen to participate because this project aligns with the school’s goals to protect the environment and undergo sustainable development. The project team has chosen the project because it is a topic relevant to both teachers and students in everyday life, and it allows for changes in routines that could have a massive potential benefit. The school currently implements a host of activities regarding protecting the environment, such as cleaning nature, gardening in the schoolyard, participating in community tree planting, recycling, and saving energy. The school invites guest lecturers, for example, the CEO of an electric car company or recycling company NSR, to educate the students. Our needs analysis for this project has shown that we need to be more involved globally, starting with the younger children in our school. Sweden currently has a good reputation regarding recycling and planet preservation, thanks to Greta Thunberg’s activism and community-driven education. But there is always more that can be done. Our teachers at IES Helsingborg would like to learn from and share their experiences with international colleagues. We want to develop an environmentfriendly approach with students from an early age and make it a way of life. In addition, the school strives to develop good English communication skills in students and teachers alike
2.PORTUGAL
Agrupamento de Escolas de Vieira de Leiria
Agrupamento de Escolas de Vieira de Leiria is a school from Kinder garden (4-year-old students) to the 12th grade (18- year old students). In the academic year 2021/2022 there are 72 students in the kindergartens, 192 in the primary schools, 128students in 2nd Cycle, and 187 students in 3rd Cycle. In Secondary and vocational school there are 120 students. There are90 teachers and 35 staff members. The schools have several classrooms including 1 classroom for Music Education,School Library, a Game Room, and Playground. The schools are equipped with Interactive Boards, reprograph ice equipment, notebooks, tablets, and different materials for the interns. The schools have several places where students can play including a park for recreation. Kindergarten educators and teachers of the 1st Cycle are specialists in
various areas often aching like Literature, Mathematics, Science, Sports, and Arts. The teachers of the 2nd Cycle are experts in Literature,Mathematics, History, English, Music, Sports, and Arts. The schools have several operational assistants and other staff members that help with the cleaning and maintenance of the garden. There are some students in need that are benefiting from social support from the municipality.
Our school cares about environmental education.The school associated with Research Initiatives:It conducts cutting-edge AI research in collaboration with industry partners or other academic institutions.The school also explores new AI algorithms, applications, and technologies to push the boundaries of innovation. Over the last few years we have carried out some actions that seek to change the habits of students and their families with regard to the adoption of more environmentally friendly behaviours and healthier living habits. We have been an Eco-School for several years and our students are actively involved in actions aimed at applying the 3Rs rule – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Our Eco-Schools challenge students to get involved in solving environmental problems, trying to make them see that changing behaviour on a day-to-day basis and adopting healthy lifestyle habits can make a difference. Adopting eco-sustainable strategies and healthy living habits is a topic that interests us a lot because, despite being located in a small village, the problem of pollution is very close to us. We have the Rio Lis with pollution problems and in the summer many traces of human presence are left on our beautiful beach. By educating students about clean environments we are changing individual behaviour. With a more careful and clean environment, there will be more possibilities for tourism development that will be reflected in the improvement of the quality of life and more employment opportunities.
3.Croatia
Osnovna skola Darda
Primary school Darda is located in the Eastern part of Croatia. Darda is a multi-ethnic place where there are members of four ethnicities: Croats, Serbs, Hungarians, and Roma, and 3 different religions. There are 380 students, 43 teachers and 13 non-teaching staff: administrative staff, cooks, janitors and cleaners. The students learn English as their first foreign language and most of them German as the second. The school maintains classes for members of national minorities where students learn about the culture, language, literature, and history of the minorities. In addition to regular classes, the school holds celebrations of various dates such as Christmas, Easter, Peace Day, Pink Tshirt Day, International Children’s Day, European Language Day and more. One of the main goals of our school is to make students aware of the importance of environmental protection, the impact of climate change, recycling, and pollution, so we organize various workshops on recycling, environmental pollution and sustainable development. The school has a school cooperative that gathers students in several activities, and one of the most popular is the activity “Plant a tree, don’t be a stump!” We would like to expand our knowledge of all EU countries and improve the social inclusion of disadvantaged students in project activities and mobilities. The economic and social situation in our region is difficult and this is an opportunity for students to get to know other cultures, countries and different geographical areas, learn foreign languages, apply ICT knowledge, develop critical thinking, develop self-esteem and have fun.
The school has been involved in ecology-related projects for years. In addition, the school cooperates with 15 teachers who work with students in various areas related to environmental protection, for example, florists, small ecologists, a school garden, a creative group, and others. In this way, through different contents of individual sections, students can easily develop their preferences, interests, and abilities, but also learn certain teaching contents and develop environmental awareness. The school collaborates with tech companies to provide students with real-world AI projects, internships, or job opportunities. Staff Qualifications:
– Employing experienced faculty with expertise in AI disciplines such as machine learning, neural networks, AI ethics, robotics, etc.
– Prepare conferences and workshops from adjunct professors to offer practical insights and connections.
The school tries to encourage and teach students to develop innovative solutions and ideas for sustainable development challenges. Through extracurricular activities and additional classes in the field of geography, informatics, art culture, and STEM subjects, ecological topics are covered and important ecological dates are marked. A goal is to work on the visibility of the results and arranging a panel in the school hall on the topic, publishing articles and materials on the school’s website, holding workshops, lectures … In addition, the school participates in various actions at the city, county, and state levels about preserving the environment, like planting trees or cleaning the environment. It responds to projects organised by various associations or companies dealing with ecology. Likewise, all teachers include environmental issues in their subjects through cross-curricular topics prescribed by the Civic Education curriculum.

2o DIMOTIKO SXOLEIO DRAPETSONAS
The school “2nd Primary School of Drapetsona” was founded in 1978. There are 243 students from grade 1 to grade 6 and 31 teachers. The school has 12 classrooms, a fully equipped computer lab, an integration department and a basketball court. The school focuses on maintaining good communication with families of the students, prevention of bullying, prevention of disruptive student behavior, protection of the health and safety of the children, but also energy saving, recycling and healthy eating. The school has taken part in European programs Erasmus (Young Writers Club and Stop ESL/School Leakage) and eTwinning (Clean Planet Healthy Life, Fun with English) from 2016 to 2021. The experience of teachers employed at the school varies from a few years to 36 years. Expertise and qualifications of the teachers create a flexible headcount with the exchange of knowledge and ideas resulting in their cooperation and fully responding to the specific needs of the school and the requirements of the curriculum. In terms of numbers, our school has 31 teachers. Regarding their scientific and academic training, everyone, without exception, holds a university degree. The experience of school teachers varies from a few years to 36 years of total service. The number, composition, expertise and qualifications of the teachers create a flexible headcount with the exchange of knowledge and ideas resulting in their cooperation and fully responding to the specific needs of the school and the requirements of the curriculum.
The school had taken part in the European programs Erasmus (Young Writers Club and Stop ESL/School Leakage) and eTwinning (Clean Planet Healthy Life, Fun With English). The orientation of the school, apart from the care for the protection of the health and safety of the children, is outlined to generally prepare our students become global citizens through exploring cultures and traditions and deeply pupils understand how people affect climate change. Our goal is to share, compare and understand the traditions of our country, by activating older generations and exchanging experiences from our partner countries in the framework of European programs in which our school participates but also in key areas of students’ education such as: cognitive development (teaching and learning), emotional and moral development and social and cultural development of the students, to the extent that the school can contribute. In the schools surrounding area there are environmental problems due to the oil refining companies. The school has been involved in ecology-related activities in an effort to prepare students to understand the human contribution to the management of environmental issues. Teachers promote an environmentally friendly lifestyle by recycling at the school and students have created specially designed recycling bins for waste separation and for batteries as well. In the schoolyard, there is compost which is used for the flowers and trees. There is another activity that is called “Plant a tree in the schoolyard”. In this way, through extracurricular activities students develop environmental awareness.

Scoala Gimnaziala “Nicolae Tomovici Plopsor
Scoala Gimnaziala ”Nicolae Tomovici Plopsor” is a large school consisting of 5 substructures including Pre-School, Primary and Secondary Schools.There are about 500 students aged 4 to 14 years. There are approximately 40 teachers, 10 administrative staff and 15 non-teaching staff. Accounting is in charge. There are 4 gyms with 5 different buildings.The teaching system is based on several curriculum areas: language and communication, mathematics and science, human and society, art and physical education.. Experienced qualified teachers: In addition to Romanian, English and French are taught. Schools, professors and students have participated in many competitions and projects at the national level and have achieved excellent success. The teaching staff and the management of the “Nicolae Tomovici-Plopşor” Secondary School aim to create a stimulating work climate through the correct application of the educational policies developed by the MEN, in order to facilitate the individual development of each young beneficiary of the educational system in the school’s area, so that it gives meaning to his confidence and aspirations, both on a personal and professional level. By promoting an open and flexible education and ensuring a good inter-institutional strategic communication, we want to offer a model of educational progress, generating active and productive citizens, able to successfully integrate into community life and the labor market. The teaching staff and management of the “Nicolae Tomovici-Plopsor” Secondary School are an example of the practical approach to the concepts of the reforms, ensuring new and important educational advantages for the young people in the school’s area.They are looking for each belonging school unit to be a real place of culture and civilization that has open doors for all those who need education, regardless of ethnicity and religion. In order to achieve this objective, it aims :

– Organization of information programs on the news regarding education reform projects (funding from structural funds, decentralization, financing and quality assurance in education) and school legislation to include as many teaching staff as possible.
– The popularization of the special results of the teaching staff’s activity in newsletters edited by I.S.J. Gorj and C.C.D. Gorj, in mass media from our region for the purpose of their moral motivation.
– Adapting the educational offer to the individual needs of the students, to meet their training interests in the short, medium and long term.
– Promoting programs for “parent education” in collaboration with local authorities in order to reduce/eradicate absenteeism and school dropout among the disadvantaged population in some areas.
– Ensuring the inclusion of the school population in an organized form of education.
– Extending the early education program so that it meets all the requests of parents.
– The introduction of educational alternatives and the organization of experience exchanges with counties with experience in the field.
The first motivation is to be aware of the environmental problems caused by pollution and the climate change that has taken place. Using innovative strategies, students will gain a better understanding of issues related to pollution, climate change, recycling, lack of energy sources, endangered species and deforestation. To achieve this, teachers agreed to use innovative methods, strategies, techniques and approaches in the teaching and learning processes of environmental education and in the exchange of good practices. Our school has three Erasmus + projects underway, but this will be the first project on this burning topic. The needs analysis of our school showed that both students and teachers need new strategies and tools to make them aware of the importance of protecting the environment and that is why we believe that the participation of our school in this project will have a huge impact on students and their families. in becoming more environmentally friendly. Our school has participated in several national competitions relevant to our project: “Recyclers Patrol Supporters”, managing to win first place in the county in battery recycling. This project represents an important step for our school in the direction of developing in students the skills of environmental protection and living a healthy life. Also during school activities we celebrate important days for our planet: “Earth Day”, “World Water Day”, “Environment Day”
