About GreenAI Project

OBJECTIVES

The main general objective of the GREEN@AI project is to combat with climate change. It leverages AI-powered data analysis and modeling to understand the environmental challenges and develop effective strategies for climate change mitigation.
By integrating AI and interactive tools, the project enables accurate monitoring of climate patterns, identification of environmental threats, and prediction of future impacts. This information supports evidence-based decision-making and the implementation of sustainable solutions for mitigating climate change.

If relevant, please select up to two additional priorities according to the objectives of your project.

The project specific objectives are:

Addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity .

Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport

Integration of AI technologies into existing initiatives: Partner schools have made small-scale attempts to incorporate AI technologies for addressing climate change. However, a significant gap often exists when it comes to connecting those technological efforts with the development of green skills. The AI-Green project aims to bridge this gap by integrating AI tools and technologies into existing initiatives and curriculum materials. By doing so, it ensures that the adoption of AI for climate change mitigation is complemented by the development of skills necessary to utilize these technologies effectively and responsibly.

Curriculum enhancement for green skills development: Participating organizations may already have sustainability- focused curricula or initiatives in place. However, the AI-Green project provides an opportunity to enhance those existing curricula by incorporating AI and interactive tools specifically tailored for climate change mitigation.
Scaling up small-scale AI-Green activities: While some schools and organizations might have initiated small-scale AI- Green activities, the AI-Green project offers an opportunity to scale up these efforts. By pooling resources, expertise, and knowledge, participating will collaborate to expand the scope and impact of their individual initiatives. This synergy enables the development of comprehensive frameworks, tools, and training programs that will be implemented at a larger scale.

Target Groups

The ‘AI-Green’ project aims to cater to a broad range of target groups within the schools communities of Spain, Sweden, Croatia, Greece, Portugal, Romania and an association community from Türkiye specifically, the project focuses on inclusivity, diversity, and addressing the needs of students with fewer opportunities. The target groups include:

  1. Students: The main beneficiaries of the AI-Green project are students between 11-14 age groups of primary schools. It also aims to engage and benefit students from various backgrounds, abilities, and socio-economic situations. This includes students with fewer opportunities, such as those from marginalized communities, low-income backgrounds, or with disabilities. The project seeks to ensure that all students have equal access to educational resources, green skills development, and the opportunity to contribute to climate change mitigation efforts.
  2. Educators and School Staff: The project targets educators and school staff members who work with diverse student populations. By providing them with specific training, strategies, and resources, the project aims to support educators in addressing the needs of students with fewer opportunities, fostering inclusive learning environments, and promoting diversity and cultural sensitivity within schools.
  3. Parents and Guardians: Engaging parents and guardians is another target group of the project. By involving families in the educational process and raising awareness about the importance of climate change mitigation and green skills development, the project aims to create a collaborative and supportive ecosystem for students’ learning and growth.
  4. Communities: The project recognizes the significance of involving local communities in its initiatives. By collaborating with community organizations, universities, technology companies ,NGOs related to environment and TECH, local authorities, and other stakeholders, the project aims to extend the impact beyond the school setting.
